Jacinda + Rebecca | The Shepard Place Wedding | Casstown Ohio Wedding Photographer

Jacinda and Rebecca's rustic, spring wedding at The Shepard Place started with thunderstorms and ending in a beautiful sunset. The day started at Rebecca and Jacinda's home filled with family and friends. While they had their hair and makeup done, everyone sat around them telling stories, giggling, snacking on delicious food, and holding the hands of each other. I loved the non-traditional approach to getting ready for your wedding -- together. The day felt calmer and there were more smiles. Moms, friends, nieces, nephews, best friends, and co-workers all around, hanging out and serving them both. I started by photographing their wedding details. Setting up the invitation, shoes, rings, wedding bands, bracelets, and necklaces, and florals. Grabbing all the details they spent their time and money on, is super important to telling the story of their day. Afterward, I documented as they had their hair and makeup done while their friends and family surrounded them.

We got to the venue to shoot the reception and ceremony details and set up a few hours before. The barn was set up with rows and rows of perfectly decorated tables. They all had different glass vases and jars, candles, florals, and table numbers. We headed inside the venue's home to the couple's suite and got some dress and reveal photos. The ceremony was simple with beautiful light leaking in, a gorgeous lounging couch, and gold frames on the wall. The ceremony was one word -- emotional. I cry at every wedding, and this time it was much sooner than I normally do. Jacinda and Rebecca were overwhelmed with excitement to finally be married and took turns passing the handkerchief back and forth during the ceremony. I captured it a few times, and I loved those moments so much. The ceremony ended with a passionate first kiss and cheering. THE BEST.

The reception was a blast. We ate amazing BBQ from Hickory River. Y'all, their ribs, brisket, and mac and cheese were LIFE. Rebecca and Jacinda had matching aprons to protect their dresses and lovely wine from a local winery from The Winery at Versailles. They shared first dances with the special men in their life and cried a little more. The cake from Brittney’s Cakes was AMAZING. I had a slice of the white cake with strawberry filing - OH MY GOODNESS. Rebecca and Jacinda were nice to each other with the cake tasting and only "booped" a little icing on each other's noses. Once all the cake and food had been eaten, the dancing BEGAN! I stayed on the dance floor -- DANCING -- only to leave to rehydrate. At one point, everyone left and I was still there dancing my butt off to "Crazy In Love" by Beyonce -- DUH. At one point, Rebecca's step-dad got groovy and busted it down during a dance-off circle. EPIC. As the night winded down, Rebecca and Jacinda ran through a tunnel of sparklers, as their family and friends sent them off and ended the night perfectly. This day was near and dear to me and was so blessed to have captured it for them. I got to work with my sister's and just be present with everyone. The absolute best way to shoot my first wedding at The Shepard Place.
